Actions group, Form Control

The Actions group of options determine what will be done with the selected forms or global objects.

Option Description
Check out Copies the current working version to the run-time database and locks it, so that only you can save changes to it.

See About Checking Out Objects.

Check in Replaces the current version in the master database with the modified version and unlocks it.

See About Checking In Objects.

Get Retrieves a copy of the form or object as it currently exists in the master database.
Note: When using this action, keep these facts in mind:
  • This option does not lock the file, so any changes you make will be lost.
  • You cannot get a copy of a form or object that someone else has checked out.

See About Getting Objects.

Unlock Removes the lock from the form or object, thus making it available for others to check out.
Note: When using this action, keep these facts in mind:
  • This option does not save any changes you have made to the file. In effect, this is the same as reverting it to the original version.
  • You can unlock objects that you have previously checked out and objects that others have checked out. Other developers can also unlock objects that you have checked out.

See About Unlocking Objects.

Archive Removes the form or object from both the master and run-time databases, thus making it unavailable. Stores copies in special archive databases.

See About Archiving Objects.

Restore Copies the most recent version of the form or object from the archive database to the master database.

See About Restoring Objects.

Scope Specifies whether you are performing operations at the Site or Vendor level.
Refresh Lists Queries all databases in the configuration and repopulates the display data.
Note:  This button is useful when you have been working for awhile in databases where others might have been working as well, and you want to see the current configuration of forms and objects.

See Refreshing Lists.
