Scheduling reports and utilities to run in the background

If a report or utility has a Background option on its Actions menu, you can schedule the report or utility to run at a time you choose. The background task can be run once, or it can be set up as a recurring task that runs at certain times daily, weekly, or monthly.

  1. From the report or utility form, select Actions > Background.
  2. On the Background Queue form, provide this information:
    Recurrence
    Use the various options to specify whether you want the task to run only once, or on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
    Frequency
    Specify the time and date information.
    Recurrence Range
    Optionally, for recurring tasks, use these fields to specify the dates on which task processing is to start and end.
  3. Click OK and then save.
