Importing an app into the App Hub

App Builder projects can be exported and imported as apps from one App Hub to another.

To import an app into the App Hub, that app must first have been exported from an App Hub.

Note: Although projects exported from App Builder and apps exported from the App Hub both use an *.iap extension, you cannot import into the App Hub an App Builder project that has not first been published to the App Hub. Once the project has been published to the App Hub and then has been exported from the App Hub, you can import the app/project into either App Builder or an App Hub.
  1. In the App Hub, expand the Menu.
  2. Select the Administration option.
Note: You can select this option only if you have administrative privileges in the App Hub.
  3. On the App Administration toolbar, click + Import App.
  4. In the Import App dialog box, perform one of these actions:
    • From a Windows Explorer window, locate and select, and then click and drag the *.iap file for the app you want to import. Drop the file onto the dialog box where it says "Drop File Here".
    • Click Select File and use the Open dialog box to navigate to, select, and open the *.iap file for the app you want to import.
  5. In the Import App dialog box, click Upload.
The App Hub imports the file and adds it to the list of apps in the App Administration page.

If an earlier version of the app is already in the App Hub, you are prompted to either replace the version already in the App Hub or cancel the operation.

If the *.iap was exported from App Builder and not an App Hub, the import operation fails.
