Importing an App Builder project

App Builder projects can be imported as projects exported from other App Builder environment or as apps from an App Hub. To be imported into App Builder, the original project or app must have been exported as an *.iap file.

Note: Projects exported from App Builder and apps exported from the App Hub both use an *.iap extension. This means that you can import into App Builder a project/app that has been exported from either environment. Apps that have been exported from an App Hub do not lose their status as published apps when they are imported into App Builder and modified.
  1. In the App Builder Projects dashboard, click to expand the More (•••) menu.
  2. From the context menu, select Import Project.
  3. In the Import Project dialog box, perform one of these actions:
    • From a Windows Explorer window, locate and select, and then click and drag the *.iap file for the app you want to import. Drop the file onto the dialog box where it says "Drop File Here".
    • Click Select File and use the Open dialog box to navigate to, select, and open the *.iap file for the app you want to import.
  4. In the Import Project dialog box, click Upload.
App Builder imports the file and adds it to the list of projects on the dashboard.

If an earlier version of the project is already in App Builder, you are prompted either to import and replace the version already in App Builder, to import the file as a new project, or to cancel the operation.
