Chart

This topic describes the options and limitations available when using a Chart component.

Content settings

Data Sets
This setting specifies what content, or data, is displayed on the actual chart.

To add data sets to be used by the chart, click Add. To use this option, you must first have a data service selected. Clicking this button launches the Add Data Set dialog box, in which you can specify the data to be used by the Chart component.

Header
This setting specifies what is to be displayed as the header (title) for the Chart component.
Category axis title
This setting specifies what is to be displayed as the title for Category axis of the chart.
Note: This does not display on all chart types.
Value axis title
This setting specifies what is to be displayed as the title for Value axis of the chart.
Note: This does not display on all chart types.

Interactions

Trigger Event
The Chart component can trigger only these events:
  • On Selection Changed

    This event is triggered when a different value is selected on the component.

  • On Load: This event might display as one of these values:
    • Data Service has run (On Load), where Data Service is the name of a data service assigned to the component
    • On Load (No Data Service), where no data service has been assigned to the component
Target Action
The Chart component can only run a target action when it has a data service assigned to it.

Style settings

Style
This setting has a number of options used to control how the chart and its data display. These are the options:
  • Show Header

    When selected, this option displays the header. When cleared, the header does not display.

  • Show Legend

    This option determines whether the legend displays.

  • Show Animation

    When turned on, the data display moves into position on the chart when the chart displays. When turned off, the data displays in its final position without moving.

  • Chart Type

    This option determines what type of chart is used: Bars, Columns, Pie, Donut, Line, etc.
