Creating a "FullForm" with Responsive Form Builder

The Responsive Form Builder is a set of wizards that you can use to create simple forms in Runtime Mode, without having to use the Web Designer (in the web client) or go into Design Mode (in the Windows client). Although Responsive Form Builder provides a number of templates and layouts from which to choose, the basic procedure to create a full-sized form with Responsive Form Builder is the same for all "FullForm" options.

The "FullForm" option creates a form with standard Mongoose-based application size standards.

  1. To open the Runtime Builder Selection form, click the Runtime Builder icon on the toolbar.
  2. From the Category drop-down list, select FormBuilder.
  3. From the Runtime Builder drop-down list, select ResponsiveForm.
  4. Click OK.
  5. On the Form Properties page of the Responsive Form Builder wizard, provide these values:
Enter A Name For This Form
Supply the name of the form to create.
Select an IDO to use with this form
From the drop-down list, select the IDO to use as the source of data for the form.
  6. From the Select A Form Type list, select FullForm.
  7. Click Next.
  8. On the Layout page, select the template/layout to use for your form.
For detailed information about the templates/layouts in this set, see "FullForm" options.
  9. Click Next.
The wizard opens the Field Selection page.

The number of properties that can be presented on the form depends on which template/layout you select, but the procedure to select the properties you want to include is the same:

    1. Select a property from the list of Available properties on the left.

You can use the Search field to help locate the desired properties.

    2. Click the right arrow.
    3. Repeat for additional properties.

To place the properties in the order you want, use the up and down arrows.

Note: The order you determine here is the order in which the properties are displayed on the finished form.
  10. Click Next.
The wizard displays the Review page.

Note that, in some cases, you have the option here to position the various fields as you want to them to display on the finished form.

  11. Click Finish.
The wizard generates the new form and launches it. You can refine the form, if you wish, in the Web Designer or in Design Mode.
