User-group-site hierarchy

In WinStudio, if more than one version of a form or global object exists in a deployed forms database, the user-group-site hierarchy determines which version is displayed. This hierarchy also determines how one version reverts to another version.

  • User version. Displayed to only one user. If it exists, a user version is always displayed and overrides any other version that exists.
  • Group version. Displayed to only the users in one group. If no user version exists for a user in the group, the group version is displayed and overrides the site or Vendor default version.
  • Site version. Displayed to all users at a site if no user or group version exists for a user. Overrides the Vendor default version.
  • Vendor default version. Displayed to all users at a site. If no user or group version exists for a user and if no site version exists, the Vendor default version is displayed.
