UET Class/Index Relationships

Use this form to define the index for a class using the user-defined fields associated with the class in the UET Class/Field Relationships form. These indexes are used when users generate their own reports or browse through the classes.

Note:  You are not required to define the index for a class, but if you do not, and you use these fields in custom exports to sort data, performance is slowed.

When you use the UET Impact Schema utility, the index is created for each user-extended table where the user class is linked to a database table. The index is composed of user-index and user-index-fld tables. The user-index contains the index definition and the user-index-fld contains the user fields with their ascending attributes.

Note: Once the index is impacted, you cannot revise it. To change an index after it is impacted, you must delete it and create it again.
