Detaching notes

You can detach only reusable notes. Reusable notes are defined in the System/User Notes form. You can attach and detach reusable notes as object notes and class notes. You cannot detach single-use object notes, but you can delete them.

  1. Open a form and select a record in which you want to detach a note.
  2. Select one of these options:
    • To open the Object Notes form and detach a note from a record, select Actions > Notes for Current.

      Alternatively, click the System Notes icon on the toolbar.

    • To open the Class Notes form and detach a note that is linked to all records in a collection, select Actions > Notes for All.
  3. To open the System/User Notes form, on the Object Notes form or on the Class Notes form, click Attach/Detach Reusable.
  4. On the System/User Notes form, clear the Attach check box next to the notes and click OK to return to the Object Notes form or Class Notes form.
  5. Click Save.
