Synchronization base level

Synchronization base level is a Windows client scope type that defines the base-level version of forms and global objects to be synchronized.

In the synchronization process, FormSync compares customized forms and global objects in the Target configuration with base-level versions in both the Source and the Target configurations. Definitions of base-level versions in the Source configuration are then applied to customizations in the Target configuration.

You can select one of three synchronization base levels:

  • Vendor: If you are installing a version upgrade supplied by the application vendor or if you are installing a service pack supplied by the vendor, select Vendor scope type. In the synchronization process, definitions of Vendor versions in the Source configuration are applied to customizations in the Target configuration.
  • Site: To specify one or more Site versions in the Source configuration as base-level versions for synchronization, select Site scope type. In the synchronization process, definitions of Site versions in the Source configuration are applied to customizations in the Target configuration made at Group or User scope type and based on Site versions. Site versions in the Source configuration replace Site versions in the Target configuration.
  • Group: To specify one or more Group versions in the Source configuration as base-level versions for synchronization, select Group scope type. In the synchronization process, definitions of Group versions in the Source configuration are applied to customizations in the Target configuration made at User scope type and based on Group versions. Group versions in the Source configuration replace Group versions in the Target configuration.
