Intranet Name

If an intranet name is not specified in this field, this XML document can be used for any site. If an intranet name is specified, then this XML document is used only for sites on that intranet, and the intranet definition on the Intranets form must specify the intranet transport protocol as HTTP.

Note:  Specify the intranet of the target site, not the source site.

If two XML document cross-references with the same BOD noun and verb are specified, one with an intranet name and one without, then the matching intranet name is used if it exists; otherwise the system uses the XML document that does not contain an intranet name.

For example, suppose you have set up an XML document to be generated whenever a new invoice is created. This application needs to pass its invoice XML document to three other applications, set up as three different intranets (A, B, and C) on the Intranets form. You defined the integration, and therefore the makeup of the XML document, to be the same for all three applications, so you did not specify an intranet name in this field. Now the application on intranet C has changed and requires a slightly different XML document format in order for the application to process this application's invoice data. You add a new outbound cross-reference record specifically for that intranet, and you include the intranet name. A and B intranets continue to use the original XML document that does not include the Intranet Name reference, but intranet C now has its own specific version of the XML document, and its own cross-reference record that is differentiated by the Intranet Name field.

Another example: Suppose you want to perform non-transactional replication of a new table to another site that is running your application, and also to a site that will receive the changed table information using BODs. If you leave this blank, the data intended for the other site that is running your application would be converted to a BOD, which is incorrect. You would need to create two cross-reference instances for the replication document: one for the intranet of each target site.
