Translations

You can translate the application texts to a specific language, depending on your business requirements. You can import a language pack in XML format that you can download from Infor Customer Portal and subject to license requirements, or translate individual application texts.

The selected user language applies to your application in all clients: desktop, web, and mobile.

Adding a language

  1. On M3 Mobility Core Toolbox, select Translation > Language selection.
  2. Click New.
  3. Specify this information:
    Language name
    Provide a code for the language, for example, GB.
    Full name
    Specify the full name of the language, English for example.
    Usable
    Select this option to make the selected language available for use.
  4. Click Save.

Updating language details

  1. On M3 Mobility Core Toolbox, select Translation > Language selection.
  2. Select a language.
  3. Specify this information:
    Language name
    Provide a code for the language, for example, GB.
    Full name
    Specify the full name of the language, English for example.
    Usable
    Select this option to set the language available for use.
    Set as base language
    Select this option to set the selected language as the default language.
  4. Click Save.

Importing a language pack

  1. On M3 Mobility Core Toolbox, select Translation > Language selection.
  2. Select a language.
  3. Click Import.
  4. Browse for the XML file that is included in the language pack then click Open.
  5. Click Yes to confirm the import of text strings.
  6. Repeat steps 3 to 5 for each XML files for a language pack.
    All text strings, lead texts, menu texts, among others, in the selected file are updated in the database.

Deleting a language

When you delete a language, all application descriptions in this language are deleted from the database. After deletion, these descriptions can no longer be recovered.

  1. On M3 Mobility Core Toolbox, select Translation > Language selection.
  2. Select a language.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Click Yes to confirm the action.

Exporting a language

  1. On M3 Mobility Core Toolbox, select Translation > Language selection.
  2. Select a language.
  3. Click Export.
  4. Select the item to be exported.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Repeat Steps 3 to 5 to export other items.

Translating table and column descriptions

You can manually translate table and column names that are displayed in your application.

  1. On M3 Mobility Core Toolbox, select Translation > Table and column descriptions.
  2. Select table to be updated.
  3. Select language to be updated.
  4. Click Load data.
  5. Specify the translation by changing the text value for table and column descriptions.
  6. Click Save.

Translating code group descriptions

  1. On M3 Mobility Core Toolbox, select Translation > Code group descriptions.
  2. In the Language section, select the languages to be updated.
  3. Click Load data.
  4. Specify the translation by changing the text value for code group descriptions.
  5. Click Save.

Translating code descriptions

  1. On M3 Mobility Core Toolbox, select Translation > Code descriptions.
  2. Select a code group.
  3. In the Language section, select the languages to be updated.
  4. Click Load data. The codes that belong to the selected code group are displayed. Note that not all code groups have codes.
  5. Specify the translation by changing the text value for code descriptions.
  6. Click Save.

Translating role names

  1. On M3 Mobility Core Toolbox, select Translation > Roles.
  2. In the language section, select the languages to be updated.
  3. In the Translate name / description field, select Name.
  4. Click Load data.
  5. Specify the translation by changing the text value for role names or descriptions.
  6. Click Save.

Translating filter groups and filters

The filter group names must be translated into every language in the system. Each filter group name is displayed in the application with the language that the logged on user has their preferred language.

The filters that exist for each filter group must be translated into each language. Personal filters that are created by a user does not reqyure to be translated into every language.

  1. On M3 Mobility Core Toolbox, select Translation > Filter groups and filters.
  2. Select a filter type, the form factor where the filter applies, and a filter group.
  3. Select whether to display filter or filter group heading.
    If you select Filter, the filter name is displayed. If you select Filter group heading, the filter group headings are displayed. The name of the selected filter is always shown.
  4. In the Language section, select the languages to be updated.
  5. Click Load data.
  6. Change the text value for the filter group, filter, or filter group headings to be translated.
  7. Click Save.

Translating organisation unit names

  1. On M3 Mobility Core Toolbox, select Translation > Organisation units.
  2. In the Language section, select the languages to be updated.
  3. In the Translate name / description field, select Name.
  4. Click Load data.
  5. Change the text value for the organisation unit name or organisation unit description.
  6. Click Save.

Translating Start menu entries

  1. On M3 Mobility Core Toolbox, select Translation > Start menu.
  2. Select a menu to translate.
    The name of the menu and the menu items are shown.
  3. In the Language section, select the languages to be updated.
  4. Click Load data.
  5. Change the text value for the start menu and start menu items.
  6. Click Save.

Translating application strings and messages

  1. On M3 Mobility Core Toolbox, select Translation > Strings and messages.
  2. In the Language section, select the language to be updated.
  3. Select the application whose strings and messages to translate.
  4. Click Load data.
  5. Change the text value for the strings or messages.
  6. Click Save.
