Adding material types

Follow these steps to add material types:

  1. Navigate to Configuration > Materials > Material Types.
  2. Select Add then specify this information:
    Note: Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory.
    Type
    Unique user-facing name of the material type.
    Description
    Enter a free text description of the material type.
    Code
    Code to represent the material type. Typically used to link the material type to the equivalent concept in your ERP.
    Properties
    Relevant material properties for the material type. You can select up to thirty (30) material properties from the list. The value for each selected property is specified on the material.
    Inventory Accounting Mode
    Select the inventory management mode for this material type.
    Inventory Change State Reason Set
    Select a value from the list.
  3. To add another material type, select Next. Otherwise, select OK to add the material type.
