Widget Builder

This section provides information to configure multiple components for the widget builder functionality. You can create a widget and change the widget canvas, properties, and settings.

You must understand the role of data sources in creating a dashboard before using the Widget Builder. You must also have knowledge on modules in MES and Application Configuration. This knowledge helps you configure dashboards effectively.

The Widget Builder screen is a blank canvas that allows you to create and reuse custom (bespoke) widgets on the dashboard. This provides multiple options and capabilities for creating personalized widgets.

The Widget Builder screen can be accessed from the Dashboard Builder screen. To add a bespoke widget, select a topic from the Select a Topic section, select the data source from the Data Source section. Select the bespoke widget from the Widget type section and drag the Add New icon to the dashboard.

Alternatively, you can click the context menu and select the Configure Widget option.

You can perform these actions on the Widget Builder screen:

  • Add or remove rows and columns from the widget canvas, using the plus and minus options. You can also perform this action, using the Layout fields in the Widget Configuration Settings section.
  • Resize the rows and columns, using the Layout fields in the Widget Configuration Settings section. You can specify a value in the value column to change the size of the row or column.
  • Add widgets from the Widget Builder section to the widget canvas, using drag-and-drop option.
  • Update basic information of the widget in the Widget Configuration Settings section.
  • Save the updated changes preview the dashboard in real time, using the Save option.
