Adding a maintenance restriction
- Select Configuration > Skills Matrix > Skills. The Skills screen is displayed.
- Select a record and click Maintenance Restrictions. The Maintenance Restrictions screen is displayed at the bottom.
- Click Add. The Add window is displayed.
- Specify this information on the Skill Restriction tab:
- Skill Type

The action to which the skill restriction applies. Possible values:
- Load and Change Tool
- Not Applicable
- Perform Inspection
- Perform Maintenance
- Sign In
- Start Job
- Skill Importance

A classification that indicates whether a skill is mandatory or preferred to perform the action. Possible values:
- Competent Only
- Preferred
- Trainees
Note:- If this field value is set to Trainees or Competent Only, the skill is required to perform the action.
- If this field is set to Preferred, the skill is not required when the action is performed. If the skill is missing, the application raises an alarm.
- Skill
- The skill associated with the skill restriction.
- Effective Date
- The date from which the skill restriction is applicable.
- Expiry Date
- The date and time from which the skill restriction is not applicable.
- Specify this information on the Skill to Perform Maintenance tab:
- Maintenance Procedure
- The maintenance procedure that applies to the skill.
- Maintenance Procedure Step
- The maintenance procedure step that applies to the skill. This field is displayed only if you select a value in the Maintenance Procedure field.
- Asset
- The asset that applies to the skill.
- Asset Material
- The asset material that applies to the skill.
- Is Repair
- If this check box is selected, the user can perform repairs based on the above selections.
- Click OK.
