Quality Configuration
This chapter provides information on configuring the master data related to quality. The chapter is broken down into these sections:
- : Configuration of inspection plans
- : Configuration of statistical process control settings
- : Configuration of concerns and actions functionality
Before proceeding with the Quality configuration, you must configure the Core Model settings. Some Production settings can also be required depending on the requirements of the quality configuration.
It is recommended that you configure the master data in this sequence to set up the Quality settings:
- Configure quality checks as follows:
- Configure Specification Sets and Specifications. See, Specification Sets and Specifications.
- Define Variable Grades, if grading is required. See, Variable Grades.
- Define Variables within the appropriate specification sets. See, Variables.
- Define Attributes within the appropriate specification sets. See, Attributes.
- Configure Specification Types, if required. See, Specification Types.
- Configure Specification Limits for variables. See, Specification Limits.
- Configure Tag Types, Tag Lists and their Tag Values, Tag Profiles and assign the appropriate Tag Types. See, Tag Types, Tag Lists, Tag List Values, and Tag Profiles.
- Configure inspections as follows:
- Configure Inspections and Inspection Versions. See, Inspections.
- Assign Variables to inspection versions. See, Assigning a variable to an inspection version.
- Assign Attributes to inspection versions. See, Assign Attributes to inspection versions.
- Assign Machines to inspection versions. See, Assign Machines to inspection versions.
- Configure Inspection Chains and assign the relevant inspections, if required. See, Inspection Chains.
- Define Variable Groups and assign variables, if required for reporting. See, Variable Groups.
- Define Attribute Groups and assign attributes, if required for reporting. See, Attribute Groups.
- Define Inspection Groups and assign inspections, if required for reporting. See, Inspection Group.
- Configure SPC as follows:
- Configure additional SPC Chart Sets, if required. See, SPC Chart Sets.
- Configure Control Limits for variables. See, Control Limits.
- Configure SPC Tab Styles for chart sets, if required. See, SPC Tab Styles.
- Configure SPC Statistics Styles for chart sets, if required. See, SPC Statistics Styles.
- Configure SPC Calculation Styles for chart sets, if required. See, SPC Calculation Styles.
- Configure Concern Management (if in scope).
- Define Concern Types. See, Concern Types.
- Configure Concern Statuses. See, Concern Statuses.
- Configure Root Cause Types and Root Causes. See, Root Cause Types and Root Causes.
- Define Action Types. See, Action Types.
- Configure Action Statuses. See, Action Statuses.
- Define Action Plans, if required. See, Action Plans.
