Adding a meter item

  1. Select Configuration > Energy > Meters. The Meters screen is displayed.
  2. Select a record and click Meter Items. The Meter Items screen is displayed at the bottom.
  3. Click Add. The Add window is displayed.
  4. Specify this information:
    Meter Item
    The name of the meter item. The meter item name must be unique for the meter.
    Collection Unit
    The unit of measure used when collecting values for the item.
    Unit
    The unit in which the collected values are reported in. A unit conversion must be configured if the Unit is different to the Collection Unit.
    Is Virtual Meter Item?
    If this check box is selected, the meter item values are calculated instead of measured from the physical devices. For example, a meter item that is the sum of other meter items. This is used for reporting only and doesn't have any other functional impact.
  5. Click OK.
    Note: Once a meter item is added, you must add an OPC item by setting the OPC Item Type field to Meter to the OPC Group and OPC Server. See, Adding a meter OPC item.
