Adding an area

  1. Select Application Configuration > Configuration > Application > Dashboard Library. The Dashboard Library screen is displayed.
  2. Click the required dashboard. The Dashboard Builder screen is displayed.
  3. Click Edit on the Areas section. A confirmation window is displayed.
  4. Click OK. The Add a new area option is displayed on the Areas section.
  5. Click Add a new area. A list of fields is displayed.
  6. Specify this information:
    Area Glossary Term
    The glossary term for the area.
    Areas Glossary Property

    The property of the glossary term that the dashboard area uses. This property is displayed on the area navigation and the Areas section on the configuration panel. This is also available in the dropdown menu in the click action area for widgets.

    Note: This field is displayed only if the Area Glossary Term field is specified.
    Caption
    The name of the area. This field is displayed only if the Area Glossary Term field is not specified.
    Description
    The description of the area.
    Icon
    The icon for the area. This field is displayed only if the Area Glossary Term field is not specified.
    Notification Data Source
    The data source for displaying notifications in the area.
    Notification Source

    The method that the area uses to determine notification status. Possible values:

    • Output field: Conditional formatting is applied based on the value selected in the Output Field field.
    • Count Rows: The records returned from the selected data sources are verified. Notifications display in red if one or more records are available. Else, displays in green.
    Note: This field is displayed only if the Notification Data Source field is specified.
    Output Field
    The value to apply the conditional formatting for the area. This field is displayed only if the value of the Notification Source field is set to Output Field.
    Enable Area Navigation
    If this check box is selected, the area navigation is displayed on the Dashboard Builder screen.
    Enable Area Tabs
    If this check box is selected, the tabs are displayed for the area on the Dashboard Builder screen.
  7. Click Save.
