Inventory Configuration

This chapter provides information about configuring master data for the Inventory functionality.

Before proceeding with the Inventory configuration, you must configure the Core Model settings. Some features require Production settings to be configured before use.

It is recommended that you configure the master data in this sequence to set up the Inventory settings:

  1. Configure Inventory States and if required and configure the Inventory State Workflows. See, Inventory States and Inventory State Workflows.
  2. Configure Inventory State Reason Sets and Inventory State Reasons for inventory states. See, Inventory Change State Reason Sets and Inventory Change State Reasons.
  3. Configure Inventory State Reason Groups and assign the appropriate inventory states, if required for reporting. See, Inventory Change State Reason Groups.
  4. Define Location Types and Locations. See, Location Types and Locations.
  5. Link input and output Locations to machines.
  6. Assign Locations to non-production Machines (Warehouses, Supermarkets).
  7. Configure Container Types and Containers, if required. See, Container Types and Containers.
  8. Configure Label Categories and Label Templates. See, Label Categories and Label Templates.
