Adding a notification

The Notification widget displays when action is required. You can apply conditional formatting to highlight the information based on the requirement.

  1. Select Application Configuration > Configuration > Application > Dashboard Library. The Dashboard Library screen is displayed.
  2. Click the required dashboard. The Dashboard Builder screen is displayed.
  3. Click Edit. A confirmation window is displayed.
  4. Click Ok. The Select a Topic section is displayed.
  5. Click the required topic. The Select a Data Source section is displayed.
  6. Click the required data source. The Select a Widget Type section is displayed.
  7. Click Notification. The Select a Notification section is displayed.
  8. Drag and drop the Add New option from the Select a Notification section to the dashboard. The Configure Notification Widget section is displayed.
  9. Specify this information:
    Source
    The source from which the name of the notification widget is defined. Possible values:
    • Glossary Term: The notification widget name is defaulted based on the value selected in the Title Glossary Term field.
    • Edit Box: The name must be manually specified.
    Title Glossary Term
    The name of the glossary term to be displayed on the notification widget.
    Title Glossary Property
    The glossary property to be used for the notification widget. By default, this value is displayed when you specify the Title Glossary Term field.
    Edit Box
    The name for the notification widget.
    Note: This field is displayed only if the Source field is set to Editbox.
    Data Source
    The data source linked to the widget. This field is read-only and cannot be modified.
    Notification Source
    The source from which notifications must display. Possible values:
    • Output field: The widget displays the actionable items based on the value specified in the Output Field field.
    • Count Rows: The notifications display in red if one or more records are available. Else, displays in green.
      Note: If the Notification Source field is set to Count Rows, the application verifies the records returned by the data source.
    Output Field
    The value to apply the conditional formatting for the area. This field is displayed only if the value of the Notification Source field is set to Output Field.
    Icon Name
    The name of the icon.
    Click Action Area
    The location that opens when you click the widget. For example, if you set this field to Overview, clicking the widget takes you to the Dashboard Overview screen.
  10. Click Save.
