Core Model Configuration
This chapter aims to outline the structure of the plant. This master data serves as the foundation for all other master data configured within the system.
Since most of the setup is interconnected, you can refer to different topics multiple times to complete the configuration fully.
It is recommended that you configure the master data in this sequence to set up Core Model settings:
- Configure Departments and Process Types to define the outline plant structure. See, Departments and Process Types.
- Configure Line Types, Lines, Line Sections, and Machines to set up production lines. See, Line Types, Lines, Line Sections, and Machines.
Note: If required, configure Inventory Positions for machines. Inventory Positions
- Create Shift Crews, Shift Patterns, and Sequences to configure shifts. See, Shift Crews, Shift Patterns, and Shift Sequences.
- Define Material Properties, Material Property Values, and Material Property Ranges, if required. See, Material Property Values and Material Property Ranges.
- Configure Units, Material Types, and Materials. See, Units, Material Types, and Materials.
- Configure BOM Variants and BOM Items For semi‑finished and finished goods. See, BOM Variants and BOM Items.
- Create Routings and Routing Operations required for production. See, Routings and Routing Operations.
- Create Machine Event Types and Machine Event Type Sets to support event logging and tracking. See, Machine Event Types and Machine event Type Sets.
- Define Document Types and upload or attach any relevant documents. See, Document Types and Documents.
- Configure Line Groups and assign the appropriate production lines, if required. See, Line Groups.
- Configure Machine Groups and assign the relevant machines, if required for reporting. See, Machine Groups.
- Configure Material Groups and assign the appropriate materials, if required for reporting. See, Material Groups.
