Optional Machines
Some machines are not required for all materials or production scenarios. You can model these machines as optional line sections. This approach provides flexibility without redefining the production line.
Example 1: Optional cutting machine in Line A
- Line A: Cutting -> Washing -> Assembly -> Palletizing
If cutting is not required for some materials, you can define:
- Cutting as an optional line section
- Line A
Example 2: Optional washing machine in Line B
- Line B: Cutting -> Washing -> Assembly -> Palletizing
If the washing machine is not required for some of the materials, you can define:
- Washer as an optional line section
- Line B
Example 3: Multiple optional machines in Line C
- Line C: Cutting -> Washing -> Assembly -> Palletizing
If cutting and washing are not required for a material, you can define:
- Cutting as optional line section
- Washing as optional line section
- Line C
