Units

Unit of measure is used to define the units of any form of quantity tracked in the application. The application provides preconfigured standard units of measure, and additional units of measure can be configured.

Example of units:

  • Scientific units of measure
    • Milligram (mg)
    • Gram (g)
    • Kilogram (kg)
    • Liter (l)
    • Milliliter (ml)
    • Meter (m)
    • Kilometer (km)
  • Other units of measure
    • Piece (pc): a single piece
    • Each (ea): Another term for a single piece
    • Cycle (cycle): One cycle of a machine, for example, one press operation

Units are configured with a property that allows the following grouping:

  • Unit is a measure of rate over time. Values with this unit cannot be summed but can be averaged.
  • Unit is a measure of quantity. Values with this unit can be summed and averaged.
  • Unit is a measurement at a point in time. Values with this unit cannot be summed or averaged.
