Line Types

A Line Type is a classification assigned to production lines to categorize lines into specific types. Line Types are primarily used for reporting, filtering and analysis. By categorizing production lines into types, organizations can:

  • Analyze performance for similar production processes
  • Generate targeted reports
  • Support operational and strategic decision-making

These are the examples of Line Types:

  • Mixing lines
  • Painting lines
  • Extrusion lines

Budget Efficiency

The target cycle time defines how fast the production line can run, however, the production line cannot operate at that speed continuously. The budget efficiency displays how efficiently the production line operates in real conditions compared to the target cycle time. The budget efficiency is a percentage that is typically equivalent to the baseline OEE for the production line.

Budget efficiency is used to adjust the estimated duration of production during scheduling activities. After a production run starts, the application uses actual rate of production to measure progress.
