Production Report Sweeps

Production Report Sweeps define how production data is collected, interpreted, and aggregated to calculate performance metrics. The application uses key production data, such as production orders, downtime, production counts, scrap counts, rework counts, and inventory transactions to generate KPIs, typically aggregated by line and period.

The specific sources of production data are defined through configuration on each line.

Base Output Counts On

The measure used to calculate output counts. This output count is used in the OEE calculation and all components.

Base Input Counts On

The measure used to calculate input counts. This input count is used in the OEE calculation and all components.

If set to None, the value defaults to the output counts plus scrap counts, assuming no in-line spoilage.

Base Re-Introduction Counts On

The measure used to calculate reintroduction and rework counts.

Area Calculation Method

The area of the material produced is calculated based on the type of input and output of the Line: The available types include:

  • Individual Pieces / Sheets: Calculate the area using the (length x width).
  • Reels: Calculate the area using the (length x width x quantity).

The conversion options include:

  • None: No area calculation is performed for the line.
  • Sheet/Pieces to Sheet/Pieces: Area calculated using length x width x quantity for both input and output.
  • Reel to Reel: Area calculated using length x width.
  • Reel to Sheet/Pieces: Input area is calculated using length x width. Output area is calculated using length x width x quantity.

Treat Production Loss as a Quality Loss for OEE

Depending on the manufacturing process and the available methods to base input and output counts on, production loss can be treated in two different ways.

  • The production loss is added to the bottleneck quantity, causing performance percentage to reduce.
  • The production loss is not added to the bottleneck quantity (the bottleneck quantity is the output quantity) causing the quality percentage to reduce.

Adjust Output Counters if they container scrap counts

Output counters are usually placed after all production losses. If this is not possible, the output counts can be adjusted to reduce the scrap counts at the output machines. This adjustment applies only to counters.

When part of a Line Group, contribute to…

When using line groups, each individual line can have counters and a bottleneck. However, only one can count to the line group’s OEE calculations. Each line can be configured to:

  • Contribute to the line group’s output used for OEE calculations. This is true for the final line in the line group.
  • Contribute to the line group’s scrap used for OEE calculations.

Contribute to the line group’s downtime used for OEE calculations. This is true for the line containing the bottleneck machine for the entire line group.
