Production Versions

Production Versions are used along with materials to define a valid combination of routing and a bill of material. This is an optional concept that can be used when required.

One purpose of production versions is to determine where a BOM is considered valid, allowing one production line to use a BOM while preventing another production line from using the same BOM.

The application defines the production version identifier, the material, the routing, and the BOM Variant used for production. If defined, the production order contains a reference to the applicable production version. Production Versions are often used as part of ERP production confirmation messages.
