Lines

A production line consists of one or more machines working together to execute a production run. Each machine in the line performs one or more operations, transforming the materials as they move through the process. Materials progress through the line in sequence, with each machine contributing to the transformation until a finished product is created.

The application provides the capability to model production lines, enabling representation of various physical production lines configurations within the system.

Standalone Line

A standalone line consists of a single machine. There is one production order, one production run, and one operation to produce a single material.

Line

A “standard” line consists of many machines. There is one production order, one production run, and multiple operations to produce a single material.

Discrete hidden

A “discrete hidden” line consists of several lines with one or more machines. There is a gap in execution of the production runs. There is one production order, multiple production runs, and multiple operations to produce a single material.

Discrete exposed

A “discrete exposed” line consists of several lines that execute different production orders to produce different materials. There is a gap in production runs. There are multiple materials, multiple production orders, multiple production runs, and multiple operations. Inventory is created for each production order.
