Line Sections
Line Sections represent a set of machines in a production line. These machines are always grouped together to execute a specific part of the manufacturing process.
Note:
- Either all machines in the Line section are included in a production run or none of them are.
- A single line section can belong to multiple production lines. However, a line section can be used only by one production line at a time.
Line Sections enable flexible modeling of production lines and are especially useful in complex manufacturing scenarios. Line sections are used to model complex production lines that:
- Share machines with other production lines
- Include machines that are optional, depending on material requirements
- Contain machines that operate in parallel
