Sub-Assets

Sub-Assets are assets linked to other assets in a factory. An asset can be a parent asset, a child asset, or both.

By defining sub-assets of each individual asset, users can create a complete asset hierarchy in the factory. This hierarchy supports data capture and reporting for related assets.

Defining the sub-assets are optional. However, some features are available only if the asset hierarchy is defined. For example, the sub-assets for the given asset must be defined to support activities, such as reporting a breakdown of a component asset in a specific machine on a production line.
