Co-Production Orders

When using co-production, orders that represent the target for production are known as Receiving Orders. These have no scheduled production runs, however, Receiving Orders are linked to Recipe Orders in Expected Co-Production mode, which represents execution of the production process.

A Recipe Order is the order that is scheduled and executed on the production line as a production run. The material associated with a recipe order is a dummy material that represents:

• A generic process, such as a washing process, a heat treatment oven, or
• A specific recipe cycle when different process settings are required for different products.

During scheduling, the receiving orders that are expected to be fulfilled by a particular production process must be linked to the applicable Recipe Order. This linkage enables the application to associate created inventory with the correct receiving order after production is completed.

When a Receiving Order is linked to a Recipe Order, one or more positions on the Recipe Order are assigned to the Receiving Order. A Receiving Order can be associated with multiple positions on the same Recipe Order. For example, if an oven has four material slots, the corresponding Recipe Order can contain four positions to which Receiving Orders can be assigned. Where required, position groups can also be assigned when multiple positions are physically linked.
