Rework

Rework refers to produced material that does not meet the quality requirements required to proceed to the next operation, however, is not defective enough to be scrapped. Instead of being discarded, the material is corrected and processed again to achieve the required quality standards. Material identified for rework can be routed back through one or more previous production operations or sent to a dedicated rework station, where the required corrective actions are performed either by equipment or through a manual process.

Note: If a part requires rework more than once, each occurrence is recorded as a separate rework count. The application does not distinguish between the first time and the repeated rework when tracking rework counts, as this requires inventory level tracking.

Rework counts can be recorded manually or automatically through OPC integration, depending on the capabilities of the production equipment and system configuration.
