Machine Event Type Sets

Machine Event Type Sets provide a flexible way to combine multiple Machine Event Types that are applicable to one or more Machines.

Manufacturing equipment often has variability in the forms of events that may be logged against them, due for example to the operation they perform or the supplier of the equipment, meaning individual machines make use of a different collection of Event Types.

A set-based approach to modelling this master data enables accurate allocation of Event Types to the related entities, offers reuse of the Event Types across as many processes as necessary thus ensuring data integrity and consistency, and simplifies reporting.

Machine Event Type Sets can hold multiple Event Types and are assigned to any number of Machines.

Existing Sets can be copied to create new Sets allowing users to add or remove Event Types before assigning the updated Machine Event Type Sets to the applicable Machines.

A default Machine Event Type Set can also be configured per Machine Type, to allow for new Machines to inherit this Set upon creation.

When a Machine Event Type must be provided as part of an operator action, such as logging into a machine event, the available Machine Event Types are limited by the Machine Event Type Sets allocated to the Machine.
