Customers
Customers represent the entity that requests material to be produced for a specific Production Order.
Customer is optional on Production Order. By default, the customer record is set to None for Production Orders that are not linked to a specific Customer, or when tracking is not required.
Customers can be referenced on Production Orders, however, also on other entities, such as Purchase Orders, and Outbound Deliveries, and master data including quality Specifications.
Customers can have a defined address. If a customer has multiple delivery locations. Each location must be maintained as a separate entry.
Customer-Plant Overrides
Customer-specific properties can be set for a customer at the Plant level. This allows the same Customer definition to have certain master data settings customized for individual production Plants.
Customer Certificate Definitions
Certificates of Analysis can be produced in MES, and the definitions of these Certificates can vary by Customer. A definition includes a reference to the source Template (a Label Template), the target language, and other content.
A Customer can have multiple Certificate Definitions.
