Machine Stops

A Machine Stop refers to any period during which a machine is not running. Each machine stop is associated with a single machine and data collection for downtime can be configured differently for each machine.

Machine Stops can be explained with a root cause and can be split when there are multiple causes for a single period of downtime on a machine. For example, if a machine stopped for 20 minutes, the initial downtime can be caused by a jam. After the jam is cleared, a separate fault can prevent the machine from restarting, resulting in the downtime being split into two machine stops with different root causes.
