Machine Event Types

Machine Event Types are user-defined categories, which provides a brief description of a form of event that can occur on a machine. For example, accidents, near misses, machine adjustments, interventions, and shift handover notes.

When logging into a Machine Event, a Machine Event Type must be selected to classify and describe the event for reporting purposes.

Machine Event Types are allocated to Sets to enable the appropriate list of Event Types to be presented per Machine.

Event Triggers

Machine Events can be logged manually by the operator or captured automatically through the receipt of an appropriate OPC signal. See OPC Items.

The expected Source is defined on Machine Event Types. Setting the source to OPC only restricts the event type to automatic logging and prevents operators from creating events of that type manually.

Alarms

Machine Events can optionally trigger alarms when logged. This is beneficial if the event triggers a secondary action and response cycle.
