Split

The split transaction is used to divide a single inventory pack into two new inventory packs each with different quantities. The combined quantity of the new inventory packs is equal to the quantity of the original inventory pack. Once the split transaction is completed, the original inventory pack is replaced by two new inventory packs. Labels for the new inventory packs can also be generated, if required.

Historical traceability is maintained between the source inventory pack and the new inventory packs.

For example, inventory pack A with a quantity of 100 can be split into inventory pack A-1 with a quantity of 80 and inventory pack A-2 with quantity of 20.
