Inbound Deliveries
An Inbound Delivery represents shipment of materials from suppliers to a factory. These deliveries are used to track receipt of materials as shipments arrive at the facility. An inbound delivery record defines information about the supplier, such as the destination warehouse and the expected arrival date.
The inbound delivery progresses through these statuses:
- Unplanned: The delivery contains limited shipment information and is not available to be shipped. is available.
- Planned: The delivery is scheduled for a date and ready to be received.
- In Progress: The delivery is currently being received into the factory.
- Complete: The delivery has been fully received.
- Cancelled: The delivery has been cancelled and is not expected to arrive.
- On Hold: The inventory on the delivery requires further action before the delivery can be progressed and received. For example, the inventory can require quality checks or sorting operation.
Additional information can also be recorded as part of the delivery record. For example, a transport identifier can be used to record a vehicle registration number for road deliveries.
Inbound deliveries can be linked to one or more purchase orders to track the outstanding quantities requested from the supplier.
Inbound Deliveries can be created manually in the application. However, the orders that are automatically downloaded from the integrated ERP through an interface can also be used.
