Scrap

The scrap transaction is used to remove a partial quantity of an inventory pack that can no longer be used. For example, scrapping the inventory after a quality inspection determines that the part of inventory is not in line with the required quality standards. This scrapped quantity is linked to the original inventory pack enabling yield calculations at the inventory pack level.

When a partial quantity is scrapped, a new inventory pack is automatically generated to represent the scrapped quantity. This provides traceability between the scrapped quantity and the remaining usable quantity from the original inventory pack.

For example, if inventory pack A has a current quantity of 100 and a quantity of 10 is scrapped, the current quantity of inventory pack A is reduced to 90. A new inventory pack A-1 is automatically created with a quantity of 10 and assigned the Scrapped state.
