Outbound Shipment
Outbound Shipments are used to track the movement of inventory from a factory to a customer. Each outbound shipment include information such as the customer delivery location, warehouse information, and expected delivery date.
An outbound shipment progresses through these statuses:
- Planned: The shipment is scheduled for a specific date and is awaited to be picked .
- In Progress: Inventory is currently being picked and prepared for the shipment.
- Complete: All required inventory has been shipped, and shipment processing is complete.
- Cancelled: The shipment has been cancelled and is no longer required.
- On Hold: The inventory on the shipment requires further action before the shipment can progress.
Additional shipment information such as the transport identifier can be recorded. This information can be used to identify and track the transport vehicle used for delivery.
Outbound shipments can be linked to outbound orders to track:
- The requested quantity.
- The quantity that has been shipped
- The remaining quantity to be shipped.
Outbound Shipments can be created manually in the application or imported automatically from the integrated ERP system through an interface.
