Reclassify

The reclassify transaction is used to modify the material assigned to an inventory pack. Materials of the same material type can only be reclassified. A label for the new inventory pack can be generated, if required.

When an inventory pack is reclassified, traceability is maintained between the original inventory pack and the reclassified inventory pack. This ensures that the history of the inventory is recorded for reporting and analysis. Reclassification transaction is used when the grade of inventory is modified.

For example, inventory pack A containing material X can be reclassified as inventory pack B containing material Y.
