Movement Request Definitions

A Movement Request Definition is a master data entity that governs inventory movement requests by defining the valid locations to which inventory of a specific material can be transferred within the factory.

The information required to create Movement Request Definition includes:

• Material: The material to be moved.
• Delivery Machine: The machine, warehouse, or supermarket that requests for the material.
• Supplied From Machine: The operational area such as supermarket or warehouse that supplies the material.
• Location: The location where the inventory is delivered.
• Packs Per Request: The default number of inventory packs requested for each movement request. This value represents a count of inventory packs and is By default, this value is set to 1. When a movement request is created manually, operators can override the requested quantity.
• Lead Time: The expected time required to complete the movement request. This includes the processing, picking and delivery time.

Only one Movement Request Definition can be configured for a combination of material and delivery location. This ensures that the material delivered to a specific location is supplied from a single defined source location. Multiple source locations cannot be defined for the same material and delivery location.
