Inbound Inventory Packs

An inbound inventory pack is an individual package included in an inbound delivery, such as pallet, box, reel, or container. Each inbound inventory pack is associated with a specific inbound delivery item and can be recorded before the shipment arrives at the facility. This helps to capture the supplier-provided information, such as batch numbers and package identifiers. This information can be validated in advance.

Unique identifiers can be assigned to inbound inventory packs based on an inventory pack template, if required.

A location can also be specified for each inbound inventory pack. This location is used when receiving the entire delivery and can be used as the default location when receiving individual inventory packs.

Advance registration of delivery and inventory pack information is often used alongside EDI notifications received from the supplier through to the integrated ERP. This approach enables full details of supplier-provided shipment and package information to be imported and validated before physical receipt of materials is generated, improving the efficiency of the receiving process.
