Actions

Each concern can have multiple actions associated with it. Only when all actions have been completed, can the concern can be closed.

Here are some examples of actions:

  • Investigating
  • Contacting supplier
  • Purchasing new equipment

Action types and sub-types

Action types and sub-types define the kind of actions. Infor MES does not have any preconfigured action types defined. New types are added as master data when appropriate.

Action statuses

The status of each action is tracked and managed in MES.

Typically a new action is created in an 'open' state, meaning it has been logged and is not yet closed.

The concern might transition into other states, such as an 'in progress' state.

Priority

Each action is assigned a priority, 1-5, where 1 is high priority and 5 is low priority.

Action order

Each action can have the order in which it should be completed specified. Any number can be entered as the action order.

MES does not enforce the order, but only helps users sequence the actions to be performed.

Action note

A note is a simple comment to track what happened with the action.

Multiple notes can be added against an action.

Action plans

Action plans are used to create templates of a series of actions that should be carried out together
