Visual inspection

A visual inspection is a way to detect defects with the naked eye to ensure a machine or line is working properly, or to ensure that finished or semifinished products are made according to specifications.

In Infor MES, this is done by setting the inspection type to 'visual'.

To manage a visual inspection, you must create a 'specification set' that maps to the material under inspection. You can then create an 'image map set' that will define the structure of the image of the material. MES uses this image map set to collect the visual defects.
