Specification variables

A specification variable is typically measured against a given specification limit associated with materials. When linked to an inspection version, then a specification variable becomes an inspection variable.

Typically, a variable is something that can be measured, as a numeric value. For example, the height and diameter of a can.

The measurement value can then be compared to a set of specifications that defines whether the measurement is within an allowed tolerance.
