Inspection frequency

When you define an inspection version, the frequency of the check is important to prompt the operators to do the check and to review conformance to the control plan as a KPI. This KPI is Percent Check Done (PCD).

This table shows the frequency options in Infor MES:

Frequency Description
Time based Required to be performed on a periodic basis. Time based checks define the data collection frequency.
Job start Required to be performed when a new job is started.
Job start / time based Required to be performed on a periodic basis and when a new job is started.
Shift start Required to be performed when the shift changes over.
Shift start / time based Required to be performed on a periodic basis and when a new shift is started.
Job start / shift start / time based Required to be performed on a periodic basis and when a new job is started or when the shift changes over.
Event based Other events in MES trigger this check to be performed. These can include an out of spec measurement, a long downtime occurs, or when a pallet is scrapped. Any event can trigger the check to be performed, but more advanced configuration is required.
As Required The check can be performed at the discretion of the user. These are also called 'available' inspections, because they are available to be performed at any time.

For time based checks, the data collection frequency must be configured to specify how frequently the check should be performed.

If a check is defined with the frequency of every hour, then a new check is triggered every hour:

MES continuously assesses whether checks need to be performed, based on the frequency definition.
