Inspection class

An inspection is typically associated with a system 'inspection class', a classification associated with the circumstances under which the inspection is performed.

This table shows the inspection classes available in Infor MES:

Inspection Class

Description

Running

Checks carried out regularly while the machine stage/line is producing standard materials.

Setup

Checks done prior to/at the beginning of a specification run. Typically used to verify quality and take a higher than normal sample size.

Capability

Checks done as material of process studies, to evaluate process/machine stages capability.

Trial

Used while performing trials/tests on new machinery, materials, or processes. This specification would not normally be shipped.

Investigative

Checks made as a response/reaction to a problem. Typically discovered during a 'running' check..

Maintenance

Checks carried out to records activities that take place as Material of a maintenance schedule.

Audit Checks carried out to record activities that evaluate system behavior.
Recheck Check carried out to record activities, typically when a first check has gone wrong or as a consequence of adjustments on the line.
Note: The running class is used as the default value from Infor MES.
