Concerns

Concerns are a generic way of recording and tracking complaints, issues, and non-compliance within Infor MES.

Additionally, they can record information on other areas of the system. Here are some examples:

  • Line
  • Machine
  • Material
  • Customer
  • Supplier
  • Inventory
  • Shift
  • Attribute
  • Variable
  • Head
  • Quantities affected/used/found/scrapped/sorted

Concern types

Concern types define the kind of concern. MES does not have any preconfigured concern types defined. New types are added as master data when appropriate.

Concern statuses

The status of each concern is tracked and managed in MES.

Typically a new concern is created in an open state, meaning it has been logged but not yet closed. New states are added as master data as and when appropriate.

No preconfigured concern states are defined. The concern might transition into other states, such as an investigative state.

After all actions for the concern are carried out, the concern will typically transition into a closed state.

Closed status
Each state can optionally be flagged as a closed state. It is possible to nominate multiple states as closed states. If a state is not flagged as closed, then it is assumed to be open.
Workflow
It is possible to optionally specify a workflow to define how state transitions are allowed to occur.

This defines what states it is possible to transition to. If no workflow is configured, then it is possible to transition to any state.

Documents

You can attach documents, such as instructions, videos, images, or documents to concerns to provide additional information to users.
