Machine events
The Events module replaces paper line log books, enabling seamless communication between shifts.
Machine events are used to automatically collect downtime information through OPC.
A single OPC item per machine is configured to track when the machine is running or stopped. The value of the OPC item represents the current status of the machine.
Each OPC item that is defined as a machine event is linked directly to a machine in Infor MES, where all data recorded from the OPC signal is automatically linked to the machine record.
Events can be recorded automatically from an OPC signal or as the result of other actions in the system, or they can be raised manually by an operator or other user.
Alarms can be raised for each event. These alarms are used to notify users of an issue. They can be tracked and investigated, then closed with a root cause reason and a corrective action.
