Line sections

A line section is a set of machines in the line that are always grouped together. Either all the machines in the line section are included when executing a specific production run, or none are.

Line sections can belong to multiple lines but can only execute a production run for one line at a time. They can also be used to model these complexities:

• Shared machines with other production lines
• Machines that are used to make some materials but not others
• Machines that run in parallel
